The Qiddiya project is a Saudi entertainment project that aims to be the largest quality cultural, sports and entertainment city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the world. Its establishment was announced by the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Investment Fund, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on Rajab 10, 1438 AH / April 7, 2017 AD. It is located southwest of the capital, Riyadh, on a total area of 376 km2, an area three times larger than the American Disneyland.
The Public Investment Fund is the main investor in the project, along with an elite group of major local and international investors. The project is being implemented by the Qiddiya Investment Company, which was established in 1439 AH/2018 AD. After its completion, Qiddiya is expected to become the largest entertainment destination in the world.
The project comes within plans aimed at supporting Saudi Vision 2030, by creating sustainable and distinctive qualitative investments within the Kingdom that contribute to diversifying sources of national income and creating new job areas to accommodate more youth energies.
